R-D1 Arrived! Help! Please

Just got the camera. I love it already.

.There is one small problem ...I have noticed in the pictures taken so far. You can only see it when the picture has a white or very light surface. please look at my attachment..One picture is my first potrait from a cooperating co-worker...the other one worries me!!!.....and let me know what this is..dead pixels? dirt??

I haven't done the firmware update yet so also will this help??

How do I get rid of this dirt??

It's easy. You'll need:

-- A fully-charged battery in the camera.
-- A locking cable release.
-- A rubber blower bulb (an "ear syringe," made for cleaning babies' ears, works well.)

What to do:

-- With the camera turned off, screw the locking cable release into the shutter button and put the fully-charged battery in the camera.

-- Remove the memory card, detach the lens, and turn on the camera's power switch. The reason you remove the memory card is that this keeps the camera from powering up the sensor; that prevents it from building up a static charge that might make the dust harder to remove.

-- Set the shutter speed to "B" and lock the shutter open with the cable release. Look down through the lens mount at the sensor; a bright desk lamp is helpful. It should be pretty easy to see specks, hairs and bits of dust. Gently blow these off with the blower bulb, making sure you don't let the tip of the bulb touch the sensor.

-- When you're finished, unlock the cable release, switch off the camera, replace the lens, and put the memory card back in. You're now ready to take dust-free pictures.

I realized its just dirt, and they give instructions on how to clean it so no more anxiety.
