If anyone is interested in a solid full case solution for her/his R-D1:
Here's my full case custom solution with lcd rear cutout and a new "snap-on" cover. Quasi "BTO" according to my wishes and made by Luigi (Leicatime). It fits my R-D1 and a ZI 35/2 or 50/2 ZM with hood perfectly. I'm very pleased. The cover is very handy and features sufficient lcd protection. Overall the case is a piece of true craftsmanship.
