R-D1 in the cold

I've used my M7 down to -30, which I say simply as a side bar and also to get subscribed to this thread. I am very interested in this subject

PS, it worked flawlessly

I've had problems at about 32F/0C - when I clicked the shutter the sound didn't seem quite right, and the frame was simply missing when I downloaded the images. This ocurred for several images while shooting in the cold. The manual does suggest that the usable temperature range is quite limited.

Cheers,
Kirk

Kirk- thanks for the tip, albeit a discouraging one!

David- did you have the M7 lubricated for low temperature?

We're having an unusual run of "balmy" weather here in Minneso-tah. That could be me in two months (no sh**). It reminds me of that time when I was walking around my college campus, I had my headphones on, and I was listening to a new CD I had just burned. It started snowing big a** flakes, and then the wind started blowing really hard. At that moment, The Beach Boys' "Surfing U.S.A." kicked in.

Looking forward (did I just type that?) to testing my M6 this Winter...
