I would like to get an update on R-D1's lens compatibility. I apologize if this topic is over-discussed, but I haven't seen or found an updated discussion.
I am not referring to focusing problem.
We all get the same initial caution list from Epson about lenses like Hologon 15, Super Angulon 21, earliest Elmarit 28, Cron 50 DR, and the collapsibles like Hektor 50 and Elmar 50. I have read in this forum that some of you have tried the Cron 50.
Have we discovered more incompatible lenses (hopefully not learning the hard way:( ) ?
And on the other hand, have some of you tried the other lenses on the list and have gotten away with it :D ?

The collapsible 50 Summicron is no problem on the R-D1, had checked it out and since this lens was used very much on the Epson. The collapsible russian 3.5/50 Elmar clones (Industar-22 and Industar-50) do touch the shutter when collapsed in with infinity position.

90mm apo. Trouble wide open but sharp at 4.0 and up (at least for me).

Has less to do with lens compatibility than more with short baselength/focusing accuracy/rangefinder adjustment?

My 50mm ridgid focuses fine so I am thinking the RF os ok. I am afraid to mess with it. That being said I am currently the owner of a very expensive 90mm F4 lens.

The base length of the rangefinder is too short to focus accurately 90mm lenses at f/2.8, let alone f/2. This has been repeated many times here and elsewhere since 2004. So consider your 'cron as a marvelous 90/3.5 (or 90/2.8 with the 1.30x mag.) lens or sell a couple of your pics to purchase an M8 when it'll be fixed.

Same for the Elmar 50/2.8 that i protect with an old shoelace but a Dymo tape might do the trick more elegantly.

Thanks Didier. I actually have the 50 Elmar collapsible, but I haven't try mounting it, and I will take your experience as advise of not attempting.
The question is: if I get some other lens, not mentioned thus far, and I try it on the R-D1. Let's say it feels good when you match up the red spots to mount the lens onto the body. However, when you do that 1/4 clockwise turn to lock it in place and it hit the shutter during the extra 1/4 turn. Well, how much of that bumping can the shutter tolerate? Or are you ok once the lens sits good on the body because there is essential no more travel during the 1/4 locking turn? Sorry if this is too trivial of question. But I have been fortunate enough not to have experience this YET.
