Yes crop factors are not the most important variable i guess but at least the same light, the same lens and a tripod are mandatory otherwise one don't compare apples IMHO.

I guess the moral of the story is that the R-D1 is a pretty good camera.

If only it was as reliable as it is good!
I dread the moment when my one (left) RD1 will die and I'll be forced to pay trough my nose for a camera with only marginally better image quality and inferior ergonomics.
