R-D1's dials copied?

I remember at the time the R-D1 was announced, there was a big thing made of how much the analog dials added to the price. Well, now a compact (and probably cheapish) digicam has been announced with similar dials:

Maybe not the same quality, but the same idea.

I wish the R-D1 had the 3" VGA screen of that Samsung, though...

The Nikon 35Ti & 28Ti, both high-end point & shoots, had analog gauges back in the early 1990s.

I had a Nikon 28Ti years ago. Very cool camera. The Samsung looks very nice. However,
I don't think it has a vewfinder.
