An R-D1s sold as new just went for €1230 on eBay (that's about $1600). I must say that I was sorely tempted to participate, if it weren't for the fact that I already quite overspent on my camera budget this month

It's a so-so price. If you can get a refurb on the Epson site it's $1,350, with the secret discount code. Otherwise, $1550. New ones are going on eBay for around $2100.
