I took some shots last week in Raw when I tried to download to my Mac power book pro I photo could not see the photo's ?
When using my Canon in the Raw format it see's the photo's what's up?

1. If you shoot raw + jpeg you'll see the images.
2. you need a raw converter to process the ERFs.

Past that, I have zero mac experience :D

MacOSX, Preview and iPhoto don't support the ERF file format (no finder thumbnail preview) :(
Cheers

O.K. but why does it open up my canon 1D and the my wife sony cybershot, when shooting in Raw they open right up in I photo?

Every cqmerqa manufacturer has its own RAW format and the EPSON RAW format is not supported in I-photo. You need to convert your RAW photos into JPEG (or TIFF) before you can see them in i-photo.

The RAW file format of each camera manufacturer is different and proprietary. Apple has to develop and implement the support into the MacOS and the applications. The R-D1 is a niche product (not on Apple's "camera list"), Canon and Sony cameras are not. :( :(
