For years I have been an occasional mail order customer of Goodwin Photo.

Goodwin Photo was a family business and fixture in San Diego for many years.
Amy Goodwin took care of her father, the founder, when he became ill, and
continued to run the store. Not long after he died she was forced to close it.

IIRC she resumed her career as an attorney and later later relocated to Texas.
But she continued doing business mail order via the Goodwin Photo website.

I recently checked the Goodwin Photo website for the first time in a year;
there I saw the announcement that Amy Goodwin has died.
This is very sad - she must have been a fairly young woman.

Goodwin Photo always had lots of little odds and ends I needed.
Amy was always helpful and easy to deal with, despite her apparent travails.

I will miss her. Rest in peace, Amy.

Sorry to hear it. I know that they had stopped allowing eb*y pick-up at their store last fall and that hours were limited.

I had been searching for a an old fashioned camera shop here in San Diego. I had been spoiled by Penn Photo in Washington, DC when I lived there. I haven't found anyrhing like that here yet. There's Bob Davis in La Jolla. Nice guy, but prices are out of reach for me, and the selection is limited.

Still looking.
