R2/3/4A discontinued?

Not to spread any rumors here, but I noticed that on web sites of German photo dealers, R2/3/4A cameras have all but disappeared; also, on the official Voigtländer Germany site, only the R2/3/4M models are now listed. Something going on?

kshapero beat me to it. I also still see the bodies and lenses available in that very large store in NY and I'd assume that many stores in Japan will still carry the brand. This said, a quick survey of some European retailers draws a blank.... Interestingly, they do stock lens adapters....

That just means those shops still have unsold stock. The A models are out of production and will eventually disappear from them too.

Cosina announced it on their website on 10th June, 2013 > [Notice of discontinuation] The Bessa A series has been discontinued.

Dealers may still have stock, but once gone that's it for the Bessa A series.

The CV LTM-M adapters have been discontinued for a while too.

The illustrious Super Wide Heliar 4.5/15 III...I thought I bought one from that large store in NY, only to find out later that it was the version II which I already owned. I've never seen the III anywhere. This said, I don't mind having two of them. One of my favorite lenses.

The v.3 of the 15/4.5 has been announced, but not released.

Glad I have my R4A. Love it!

So these are still in production? Glad to hear it -- time for an update to the product line, I think, a la the Zeiss Ikon.

Oh wow... I must have missed the original post of two years ago...
And I noticed the actual disapperance of RxA models from the shelves just now...

Thanks for clarifying. And a shame, also for the adapters... but good to hear that the RxM models are still in production...

A shame about the loss of the LTM to M adapters, as Voigtlander made the best modern ones. The CV and Leica's own adapters are the only ones I use.

I learned this the hard way when some junk adapter sold by Adorama nearly ruined the frameline switching in my M7, and took almost a wrench to get off.
