R2 Olive Green

When the Bessa R2 Olive first came out, it was heavily promoted locally by Tom. Maybe I should have bought one through him. It would have been a Hell of a better investment than my pristine Leica CL. At least the R2 would have had a working shutter. 🙂

I've dealt with that seller before (for quite a long time he's been providing cheap good fresnel screens for TLRs) and found him to be extremely helpful and serious, I wouldn't hesitate dealing with him again.

As for the HK source, well, that zone is a huge source for tech equipment, cameras included, and for instance Joseph Yao has been selling from there for quite some time as well 🙂

What I regret is not grabbing a $250 R2 when I spotted one in photo.net, as much as I'm liking the T I think it could have been a great daily user.

I'd like a little colors on my R2... but probably not enough to buy another one. Well if the coverings of mine fall off one day, I wouldn't mind having these on mine...Mr. Aki-Asahi, right?

I hemmed and hawed when I ordered my Bessa R2 a little over a year ago. Should I stick with the safe and solid black, or take advantage of something different being offered and go for the green? I enlisted the advice of family members and still couldn't decide. Finally decided to try the green since I had black cameras already. I like the color but after a year+ of using it, it's more the viewfinder and the quality of the lenses that impresses me. Don't think I would have paid extra for the color.

Now with Zorkis, I bought a blue one just because it was blue, a red one just because it was red... you get the picture 🙂
