I've had my R2a for a couple of months now, and I just noticed that if I point it at something dark (e.g. the carpet) I can see faintly all the framelines, not just the ones selected. I can also see a shape which looks like the tab to a sticker or something (sort of like a small semi-circular blob on the side of a larger rectangle).

Should I be worried? It's no inconvenience at all, but if it's a symptom of something wrong, I'd rather know sooner than later, so I can get it sorted out under warranty.

Many thanks

If I were you I certainly would sort this out under warranty.

Send the carpet back straight away - it should not do this.

When the new carpet is delivered remove any tabs and stickers before you look at it through the viewfinder.

Justtried it with my R, If the light source is from the side slightly to the front I get to see all the lines... just.

I do not see (yet) the sticker though. This is not a big problem for me, only just noticed it.

Change the carpet 🙂

i should have been more clear. i don't see any "sticker" either...just all the framelines. you can see what look like the masks around the framelines as a faintly lighter area. maybe that is the "sticker" he mentions. and yes...on my mp, you can only see the selected framelines no matter what.

I sell handmade carpets from time time and need product pix for eBay.

You would not have the framelines issue if you had bought a Leica. You would not be able to afford a carpet too.
