I got endusty's former r2a right here in front of me, its great, very clean, got a little damage on the rubber eye ring in trasit I think, dont know if those are fragile or what, might need to replace it since its kind of floping around on there now.

I cant believe how small this camera is....its so light and feels solid. The shutter sound is a little loud but I guess it doesnt mater really since its so freekishly small. And that viewfinder...wow, its almost as bright as the zeiss ikon, just so very close and the fact that I paid 300 for it...wow, what a deal.

Mounted my bizzare cosina/epson rd1 2004 35mm 2.5 (which seems to be an odd version of the pII) to the camera and its so tiny, a pocket camera as the old man said. Just waiting on the hood to come in from stephan and it will be complete! Regardless without the hood I will be out with it tomorrow shooting and trying to keep my fingers away from the front of the lens.

Color film here I come, im in a color mood lately.

I will post images in about a month when I get back to china because then i can develop and scan the photos there for significantly cheaper then I can here, gota save some money because now im looking for a 50mm lens for this....anyone got a clean summicron rigid they want to part with? 😀
 
Congratulations Avotiuos - seems your cursed hands have finally been cured.

Yup - that eyepeice cover is a pain, I'm on my second one now, they have a habit of unscrewing themselves too.

My R2a is about to go back to Cosina for lightseal replacement, but I'm still liking it (perhaps more than the M2 - eek).

You may want to consider the 40/1.4 for low-light tinyness - I've been using it fine with the 35mm frame.
 
Looks like Endustry took care of you, but if the new ring should fail (as mine did a week after owning my brand new Bessa) you can use a dab of Superglue to stop the torn part from flapping. ...oh, yeah, and remember to let 10 seconds go by before raising he newly-glued part to your eye...

I'm always amazed by people's reaction to the size of the R-series Bessas, describing them as "tiny". Am I the only one who finds them just as you would expect a 35mm body to look like? Were you all handling view cameras before picking up the Voiglanders 😀 ?

The only other rangefinder I've handled is a Zorki-4 so in terms of dimension and weight, the Bessas are really small. I was actually quite surprised and wished it had a little more heft to it to help stabilize my shots.

Anyways.. still deciding between the R2A and R2M...
 
I have the R3A and it feels great (and I have quite large hands.) I could see if your comming from an SLR with grip/motor where it might seem small but I really don't feel like it's too small by anymeans.
 
It's not tiny to me. Tiny is my Casio EX-S600 which is about the size of 3 stacked credit cards and weighs the same. I carry it in my shirt pocket always. I never even know it's there. Now that is a stealth camera. Digital, natch. 😉
