Wow!! This is a nice camera. Seems sturdy enough for the use I'll put it through. Light, quiet (compared to my D300) with good fit and finish. Don't know why I'm surprised but I had convinced myself that a Leica or Zeiss Ikon upgrade would be in my near future. Now it's time to take some pictures!

Got the 40mm lens btw. It's well made too!

I too recently got a Bessa R3A, and I love it. I don't see myself giving it up for a more expensive film rangefinder body unless I can find a better one that also has a 1:1 viewfinder and aperture priority metering. I shoot with an M-Hexanon 50/2 and find the combination to be very satisfying!

Can't wait to buy some B&W film to shoot. Only had a couple rolls of Kodak color print film at the house today.

Glad there are a few R3A users out there to share the experience.

R3A with 40mm Nokton f1.4. That's a really nice combination!
It's the camera I've used most in the last year, where apart from an airshow where I needed a long lens, my evil DSLR has languished unloved in the drawer.

Have fun!

Same here. Excellent RF body with a superb glass.
I enjoy every minute with both as a kit.
The 1:1 viewfinder and the 50mm framelines are a perfect match.

(haven't tried it yet with other lens, though)

It's a great camera--careful though, it's like a gateway drug to more expensive and addictive pursuits!

Let's see some pictures!

Yes I know!! GAS is steering me towards a 15mm right now! Hopefully I learned my lesson with the Dslr GAS I've went through the past few years. I've sold 3 cameras the last month and have only aquired two. However both of the "new" ones are film, the Bessa and a really cool Mamiya RZ67.

Now if I could locate a Nikon 9000 scanner I'd be just about broke again! 😀
