R3A Batteries

Hi,

My LR44s have died on me. So, looking for replacement batteries, I see that SR44s are also possible to put into the R3A.

Please can someone explain to me why I should pick one over the other?

The SR44 are Silver Oxide and have a more even output over time, whereas the LR44 are Alkaline and tend to experience voltage drop over time.

For the reasons already stated, I always use SR44s (aka 357) and never use LR44s (I'd use LR44 in an emergency, but I haven't had one of those so far).

Thanks. Have just placed an order for 2 SR44s. While I'm waiting, it does make it tempting to look at the RxM offerings which don't need batteries...

You are 100% correct but the GBP differential is large you can get large bubble cards Ch manufacture for less than the price of one SR44.

Some cameras are ok with LR44, some not.

I went for the £1.95 SR44s over the £1.85 LR44s. Packs of 2 Energizers...

I can get a card of ten LR44's for about €5.

I cannot get SR44's.

So I buy the LR44's in bulk and use them. No worries.

i get the sr44s in big plastic containers - about 100 for about $6 i use them in my all of my cameras. they are also good for kid's toys

I use a single CR 1/3N, less contacts to corrode, I've still got the original I put in my R2 when I bought it six years ago!! The same with the one in the Bessa T, been in it for years.
