I saw that in the classifieds! I definitely want the larger finder though...
Nice photo BTW! In the long run, I am certain a screw mount adapter will more than pay for itself...

Well. Just got the R3M yesterday. Work is preventing me from shooting a roll until the weekend, but I can say right off the bat that I think it's a stunning camera. Heavy, solid, beautiful--it's hard to imagine anyone complaining about the thing as a physical artifact. I like the finder, although I may have to get a diopter attachment because of my glasses...my only complaint is that it's very hard to see the meter digits in bright sunlight. But I suspect that once I get a reading on a bright day, I'll largely be sticking with the same settings, with only small adjustments. The RF is perfectly aligned, the patch is nice and clear.
It's true that the shutter is loud, but I'm not sure that's ever going to bother me. It's got a lovely sound, IMHO, and there is almost no camera shake when it fires...the whole thing just feels SOLID, very connected to my body.
I do think the collapsible format of the Heliar Classic is kind of dumb. It doesn't actually collapse much, and I would rather CV have just let it be longer and given me larger focus and aperture rings. That said, though, I'm sure I'll get used to the ergonomics, and the photos I've seen suggest I won't be complaining too much when it comes time to scan the negs.
I'll post pics Monday or Tuesday, I hope!

I do find that to be a bit of a borther too. The only other 'inconvenience' is the lack of a shutter lock.
In any case, I'm sure you are going to be having quite a bit of fun with this!!

I predict that you will love the 1:1 finder. I love my S3-2000 for that, it's an amazing thing. Enjoy this weekend and share your thoughts and impressions.

One trick that works is to place your index finger in front of the VF where the LEDs are located. This will allow you to see them.
The R2*/R3*/R4* series camera bodies all have shutter lock, BTW.

Funny you would mention this! I just figured it out like 5 minutes ago--I was outside shooting our garden and suddenly remembered I wasn't using an SLR, and I could cover up the VF.
Thank you! I'm halfway through the roll, looking for stuff to shoot, so I can develop the pics and see what I've got.

Wow, I like this lens a lot! I was nervous about my metering, too, but it all worked out. Unfortunately the negs are pretty scratched. I suspect it's my squeegee...
