My shutter speed flashes continuously when I look through the viewfinder.
I don't recall this before. There are no manuals in PDF form that I've located that discuss this. I thought it might be an indication of low batteries. I've installed new batteries and it still persists. Suggestions or clarification is appreciated.

First stage in low battery warning, possibly? I believe that the furthest L and R numbers start blinking when the battery gets lower.

I could be totally wrong.

Try putting in some fresh batteries, just to see if the blinking goes away.

Drop Tom A a line - he mentioned flashing lights and their meaning on the Bessa "A" models in a thread in the last few weeks.

The A version of the Bessa 2/3/4 have a low battery warning by flashing the two furthest numerical.
If the set speed flashes it means that you have the exposure compensation on. This is a warning to remind you to reset +/- compensation.

Heh.. Ben read the "entire" original post ;D.. I added new batteries!
thanks tho

Tom, I do have the exposure compensation on.. so that's the answer. Annoying but also helpful! Thanks Tom, all I could find was a PDF manual for the Bessa R... and I'm sure you know there was no clarification there.

I may have been sloppy about reading your first post, but at least I was right about Tom knowing the answer!

No offense taken! It just reminded me of when I was in high school and university, and we were taught to read exam questions very carefully before answering them. I've lost that ability it seems. :p
