Hi,

I've a question after reading about "removed" framelines from Leica bodies (for uncluttered view). Is it possible to get rid of 50mm framelines from R4A???

Peter.

You can tape up the bright window matching the position of the tape over the areas where the 50mm lines reside and that should effectively mask out the 50mm lines..

I'd always heard about how the 50 FL are supposedly for "emergency use", but I took the R4A to Amsterdam last week and really enjoyed using it with a C Sonnar (and a 28). Maybe the Sonnar's relatively high minimum focus distance makes it easier to focus at f/1.5, but I didn't experience any problems.
But that is OT.
For heavy use with a 24/25, it could be nice to mask the 50 framelines.
Maybe you could just try using the 28 as a guide?
