Hi,
We are now in Oslo, Norway. It has been pouring rain for the past two days since we left Copenhagen, Denmark. While in Copenhagen, we met up with David Hansen, and it was a RFF mini-meeting! I will post some photos after our return home.
I am using the M9 with the 35/1.4 pre-asph, plus the remarkable EP2 with the Zeiss G 45/2. I am not wishing for any different combination. The EP2 handles different light situations very well.
We are staying four nights in Oslo, followed by a one day side trip to Aurland, at the edge of Fjord country. I want to show my family some stave churches from the times of the Vikings.
Last time I was in Oslo, I camped in one of the large camp sites. The Rolling Stones played a concert in Oslo, and I tought that some campers were playing loud music. It was a week before Iraq invaded Kuweit.
Time flies.
Now, Dana and Lina use their IPod or my IPad with Google Translate to understand some Norwegian sentences. I want them to be exposed to many cultures. Both are taking photos.

Have a nice trip Raid. Yet - wouldn't keeping them away from iToys for a while the best way to expose American kids to another culture ?
I do hope you will visit Bergen and Ålesund. The most beautiful Norwegian cities IMO. The latter is just fantastic (click) when discovered from the hills surrounding it.

Thank you, Bill. The traveling is fun. The weather is predicted to change to no rain- partially cloudy by 1pm tomorrow, and for the entire weekend. Rainy days can be very nice, too.

I limit their access to the Ipod and Ipad. Time does not allow us a visit to Bergen. We would have needed on more day. I am giving my family a snapshot of Norway.

Thank you, Michael.
Access to the internet allows me to answer questions from students, and to do some contacting of people to discuss research issues.

Pity, you just missed a long and very hot spell. Oslo has been the second hottest city in Europe for some time now. And the Stones were here last week! Unfortunately wound up in the kids' primary school end of term summer events this weekend, or we maybe could have met. Hope the weather picks up, the west-country is just stunning this time of year, if the sun is out.

Hi Ezzie,
We are from Florida, and we do not want the heat. We want cold weather.
Thanks for the good wishes!

I am working tomorrow, but will be in the city and could meet for lunch or a chat/walk in the late afternoon before dinner. PM me if you are interested. I am still interested in hearing about that LTM Nokton you bought, while everyone else went for the new M mount (laughs).

Enjoy your travels, Raid. Looking forward to seeing your photos from the trip. And perhaps some of the girls' photos? It might be fun to see their view of the world (if they agree).

No problem, Antti. I understand how schedules can control our lives.

Thank you, Lynn. I will post the photos after our return. The girls are enjoying this trip. They are always giggling or laughing. They seem to understand the differences between the different cultures.

My M5s need red dots!
Wow, Raid, you travel a lot. For academics, it's not rare, but your traveling is really atypical.
BTW, I am a professor too... but in foreign languages. Take care and enjoy your trip!
One final question: how's the coffee there?
I'm curious about it...
