However, I see some "onion rings" in the sky. Does anyone know how they came about?

Thank you; that’s a great compliment because I really admire your work.

The onion rings are .jpg compression artefacts from trying to make the file smaller. The compression categorises bands into similar density areas rather than making a smooth gradation. I only noticed them after I couldn’t edit the post.
