Rangefinder Blog/Site Ring

Many of us seem to have a blog or website (or both). We've had a thread where we could post the links to those blogs and websites. It got me thinkingand I set up a Blog/Site Ring to make it easier to look for and find all those wonderful rangefinder oriented and photography enthousiasts' blogs and websites. There are so many out there that it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of them in my favoutites list.

So, if you feel like joining check out here: http://shardsofphotography.blogspot.com/2005/11/rangefinder-blogsite-ring.html .

Sent you a PM.

For everyone, Fredus is in need of a smaller navigation box that will fit in the sidebar of his blog. I can understand that as I was thinking about that too. Right now the navigation tool is like a small banner. Not too big at all but wider than most blog side bars. I'm working on a smaller tool. If you too want such a smaller tool than, please, let me know.

The big thing is what puts me off.

Ideally very small - two short (short!) lines of text, no graphics, would be my preference, ie something that would fit my sidebar.

Everyone, I have now two other nav bar options available. One is text based, another is too but a bit more elaborate and less than 160px wide. The first can be seen on 400iso, the other on my blog.

Just aiming to please. 🙂

Ah ha. The one on 400iso is wht I had in mind 😀

I'll get to it later...

With Fred's permission, I copied the code and set is as the standard code for every signee.

Who manages this blog ring? It's broken right now. One site hasn't added the navigational menu.

🙁

I manage the ring.
Any idea which site didn't place the nav bar?

Is this just for Rangefinders? Or can rangefinder enthusiasts put their personal sites up?

Many photos on my crappy little site were taken with a rangefinder.

CleverName,

the ring is definitely for rangefinder enthusiasts! Not just for blogs or websites dedicated to RF cameras.

The idea behind the Rangefinder Blog/Site Ring is to have an easy way to surf all those blogs and websites dedicated to rf cameras or maintained by rf enthusiasts. There are so many of those that I found it increasingly difficult to find them among my favourites/bookmarks.

I checked the ring and sent an email to the blogs/sites where I couldn't find a nav bar. Probably a minor oversight, or people just being too busy.

It was just the one blog, HeyHeyHey. You go around the ring and stop there. I don't think it's intentional (like you stated, the owner probably hasn't gotten around to it yet); it just defeats the purpose of the whole ring. It would be kind of nice to cycle through on a daily basis. We'll see what happens.

That's what I do, too, just to keep up-to-date with what others are working on.

I just launched mine last week, and although I have been shooting mostly with rangefinders this year, I also have been putting pictures made with my digital camera on my blog. Does it still qualify?

I'm still "tweaking" my photoblog, btw.

Gabriel, YES! The ring is not just for sites or blogs about rf; it's for rf enthusiasts. And you can still be a rf enthusiast if you shoot dSLR. So, come in and join!
