Hey folks,

My Bessa R2M just got this weird "fog" inside the rangefinder.

How on earth could I repair that?

Thanks

If it is just moisture, and it looks like it is, stick it in a sealed plastic bag full of uncooked rice. The rice will gradually absorb the moisture.

You can also get silica gel made for this purpose, but most people are more likely to have a bag of rice lying around.

Hi, then you must clean it.

It´s easy removing the top plate.

Screws at both sides under the rubbers, one at the back, also a couple in the eye piece.
Perhaps the hardest is the speeds dial that must be unscrewd using a rather special tool and the rewind knob wich has a secure.
There are two black screws at the front.
As you lift it remember not to pull right away because there is a ground cable in the side of the rewind knob.

then you´ll be free to remove completelly the top plate and clean that uncomfortable fog.

Good luck!

Wow, I'm not that comfortable opening like that. Maybe if it was less complicated (of course it would never be).

I tried the plastic bag already. It has been there for quite a while.
