Rangefinder for use other than "street" photography?

I don't shoot much street photography, because I usually don't go out on the street all that much. I basically shoot what goes on in my life, so there's a lot of informal portrait type stuff with some travel stuff thrown in. To top it off, I take whatever I find interesting whenever I go out for a 'photography walk'. The street stuff happens either when I'm out for an afternoon and see something interesting or am traveling and see something interesting.

I find RFs are great for all these kinds of photography because of it's relatively small size, which means I can have the camera with me and I don't resent it because it doesn't weigh 4 pounds. While there are smaller systems out there, RFs are also very capable in terms of lens choice and exposure decisions.

Don't worry, street-photography requires a certain kind of environment and discipline, and not a whole lot of us have both or either 🙂

To me, Rangefinder cameras are just plain fun to use. I happen to like 35mm lenses, and I find RF cameras to be very nice to use with 35mm lenses.

I use RF cameras to take pictures of nature, events, portraits, and of course, travels (the closest to "street-photography" that I get to do).

And those big RF cameras are especially nice for landscapes.

Graham, that is some great work! Very interesting imagery.

Folks, I know it's a silly question - can a rangefinder do X and Y??? But, more than an answer I was interested in seeing actual imagery, and you've provided some excellent examples. How can you argue against it!

For me I use my rangefinder cameras in any kind of photography, it depends on situation.
I bring my camera to any place I've been and there are many kind of photo in one roll. (I usually shoot 1 roll a month).
