Dear all,

I am a seasoned traveler who likes to take photos. I am tired of my point and shoot. An SLR seems out of question, because of the weight and the bulk.
I am seriously considering a digital rangefinder. Would you know a photo instructor or courses that are given for rangefinder camera users in Manhattan.
I thank you all in advance for your help

The only digital rangefinder you can buy new is a Leica M8, over $5,0000 without a lens. There are no courses that I know of for the Leica M8 unless Leica has something. You are probably better off buying a Canon G9, very small good camera that sort of looks like a rangefinder. Or a Nikon D60 which of course is an slr but really quite tiny and light. For courses a general course on digital photography at ICP might help.

I, too, would recommend the Canon G9. It is a very well built and sturdy camera, but is small enough to carry in a pocket. And the results can be exceptional.

Once you now the basics of photography (and you seem to do so) and learn how to focus with the patch, you are basically set.
Best way to learn the RFF. Go out and shoot, I am not sure a rangefinder specific course will bring you much more than a normal class.
