Hi everyone,

I have a Telex external rangefinder for my Nettar which keeps knocking out of alignment. I will calibrate it before going out for pictures and when i return home it will require to be calibrated again.
Is there any way to work around this?

Thread locking compounds are 'glues' in various strengths that stop screws turning after the 'glue' has set (typically 15 minutes-2 hours). A dab of nail varnish on the head of the screw (Loctite is applied to the thread itself) has much the same effect, but I've found (clear) nail varnish stronger than thread locking compounds...

Cheers,

R.

Don't have this problem with my Telex so never had the urge to open it but
how deep is the screwhead lying in that hole ? Would it be possible to lock
that screwhead by using the red laquer which you see many times on screws
from which you have to keep away (anti tamper seal) ?

Mine had a small knob there, and generally needed realignment every other week. Ones with a hidden set screw should have been locked (with varnish or glue) - they can't seriously have been intended to be as loose as the user-settable ones.
