Hey, Y'all
I just recieved the latest issue of Rangefinder (January 2005). And this issue is devoted to B/W photography. It also has a user's review of the Epson R-D1 digital rangefinder. The last couple of issues have been quite good. Not the usual boring fluff on wedding, fashion and portrait shooting. Check it out. The subscription is free.

I signed up for this magazine a few weeks ago. I think it was thanks to Russ that I also got a fee subscription. Looking forward to mine coming in the mail!

There was a delivery problem with the January issue. So it' has arrived a bit later than normal. If you don't receive it very soon, give them a call, and they'll take care of you.

I'm a little confused by the subscription page.
It says "For a Limited Time Only Subscriptions to Rangefinder Magazine are FREE to Qualified Individuals!" but nowhere can I find when one qualifies.
Also, they ask "Would you like to receive/continue to receive Rangefinder magazine?" (yes/no). What kind of question is that? And what to answer? I have never seen the mag and might not even be interested in it after reading a first copy, so what should I answer? If I reply "yes" will I be stuck to it and be charged for a year's subscription? I just signed up for Aperture and don't really need another mag right now, especially not if I have to pay for it. If I reply "no" will I be signed up and receive nothing?
I'm at a loss here, completely out of my wits. I guess my brain ain't working properly: I got sugar rush from the sweets I ate just now. I hardly ever eat sweets so when I do they tend to make me stoned.

My guess, from when I signed up, is that to qualify you simply have to be interested enough to sign up. This is usually the case for niche professional mags that are really paid for by advertisements. I'd say go for it as I'm sure its currently free and will remain free.
Hope this helps,
William

Sorry, Peter.
I signed up already. Now let's see when they'll contact me.
Damn, I need some fresh air! The candy is really going straight to my brain. I'm watching Fear and loathing in Las Vegas right now too. I can tell you that's not a good combination.
And it's only 6.30 pm here.

Hood grief. What if you had something a little more... potent, like rich dark chocolate maybe?
Fear & Loathing - a classic!

Yikes! I apologize for starting all this mess. For now on, I'll keep my big fat pie-hole shut! RML, you will not be billed for the rangefinder mag. However, you do have to pay for the superb, "Lenswork" publication. And it's worth ten times what you pay for it. And much cheaper and better than Aperture.
Back to the gourmet, Moonstruck Chocolates for me...

Some fried chicken and hot lemon tea later and I'm feeling better. I think I'll throw in a Jet Li movie next.
Russ, please tell me about Lenswork. Does it come with Rangefinder mag or is it a diffirent mag? I've heard some of you here talk about it but never seen it up close.
