rangefinder patch

just got my RD-1. looks awesome. delicious little thing.

questions, though, about where the focusing patch should be. mine seems to be off center to the left and up from the center of the framelines. is this normal? can it be adjusted (by me) and if so how? should i send the thing back to the seller? is it the framelines that might be off? am i holding my eye up incorrectly? enquiring minds want to know.

The patch should be in the middle of the viewfinder, and it stays there when focussing; the framelines move when focussing, for parallax. I don't think there's anything wrong.

My focusing patch is off cent too.
To the left and a bit high in frame.
To me this feels like it is off.

Recurrent question since 2004 here. The RF patch is fixed. Only the framelines move for parallax correction. Same with Bessas.
