I am considering buying a Kenco rangefinder polarizer from Robert White here in the UK and was wondering if any of you use one.I would use it mainly on my G2 loaded with slide film for landscapes so i would need the 46mm one with the hot shoe polarizer(not cheap)Then get a 46mm-43mm step down ring to use it on my Nokton 40 (pending)for b+w work so any input would be a help.Cheers

I've looked at those and like them but they are a little expensive for me and my needs. What I have seen also is using a large(72 to 77mm) polarizer with the appropriate step rings. The ring(or rings as needed) are fixed together and a slot is cut out so that you can see the effect of the polarizer directly--the slot needs to line up with the VF and RF windows on the front of the camera so you can frame and focus--not sure if this would work on the G2, the rings etc might get in the way of the AF window.
And it may not be any less expensive, the big sized polarizers aren't cheap either.
I'm not personally acquainted with the G2 (and I'm guessing you mean the Contax not the Canon
) so I don't really know if this would work. I do think, though, that if it would, it would also make for a slightly smaller(well, flatter) package to carry around.

I am also a fan of the vented step up ring scheme. I find it more simple since you dont have to flip the filter up and down to preview the effect.

Use the search feature. Jaapv in the Netherlands (RFF member) did it for his M body. I think he found a single step up ring from something to 77mm. He used a Dremel tool and perhaps some hand tools. It was in a thread about a similar product from Leicagoodies.
In the advanced search use the keyword polarizer and user Jaapv
That should work.
