Rangefinder retaining ring for FED-3

I'm looking for the retaining ring for the rangefinder window (front) on a FED-3. Does anyone out there know the size/diameter of the threaded ring? Or does anyone have a spare lying around they'd be willing to part with? Or is the absence of the ring that big a deal? Need some info/help, please. Thanks

Assuming you mean the bezel around the RF window, it's a decorative not functional item. Both variations of the FED 3 (a and b) appear to use the same bezel but it's different from any other FED/Zorki so you need one from that model specifically. The bezel on a FED 2 looks similar but does not fit properly, for instance, the rim is too small. If you need the actual size I can measure one for you but I'm not sure it'll help!

Thanks, Wolves. That makes me feel better. I was worried it would be a dust tunnel into the inner workings of the RF. Just won my first FED on that e-sales site and waiting for it to arrive. Should be here in a couple weeks (coming from Estonia!) so I'll probably be able to measure when it gets here. Price was good with the radioactive 53mm f2.8 lens, so could hardly pass it up. I just hope this isn't the start of another new addiction! 😉
