Rangefinderforum home screen icon

I wonder if anyone has the same iPad problem I have been experiencing. My home screen Rangefinderforum icon keeps appearing as a white box. I have tried a lot options but can find no consistent solution.
My icon is directly from the Safari link. My Apug link is solid.

Any suggestions?

When I create a home screen icon, it looks like the home screen of the website in question.

Yes, that is correct. However, frequently when I quit the site I lose the image and have a white square with the title beneath. It is an irritation mostly.

Do you have more than one RFF shortcut on your Home Screen? If yes, the .png files may be clashing.

On my PC in Firefox I get the default globe icon for my RFF bookmark.
Most of my other forums automatically create a custom icon.
Could this issue be related?

No only one icon being used. I have tried every thing I know and can find no consistent pattern. Sometimes it works OK, other times shows the white square. Internet searches show many others have the same problems with some of their sites. Mostly on IPads.

Hm. I can create the issue but only when having two or more shortcuts to a website (not just RFF) saved to the HomeScreen. Once, while testing, I observed a whited out RFF icon switch over to its normal/expected self...

Have you tried putting the shortcut into a folder?

Folder idea does not work. I have a folder with a white square in it.

I have tried the double square menu and swiped the rangefinder icon off the screen. Some times I get a white square, sometimes a full icon image. There seems to be no repeatability to the process.
