Hi Mods please feel free to move if in the wrong section😱 Well l consider myself to be reasonably savvy where a certain auction site is concerned l have over 1440 transactions to my name ...........anyway this week was going to be a bit special what with the arrival of a Contax II and a Leica M5...now it turns up neither will arrive, totally messed up and around by both sellers, one refund has been issued and one case open to dispute....totally gutted, and so as well as being totally dismayed by ebay l now do not have a Leica M to look forward to😡:bang:

A real pain - and not just because of the money and/or the annoyance of the dispute procedure. When making a purchase such as this, the sense of anticipation is an essential part of the enjoyment. Presumably, that has turned to mush. That's a very poor show. 🙁

yes its been a day of mixed emotions, ebay woes but cheered up by England winning in cricket and reaching the cricket world up final. The other side of the cin is that l also have £500 in my pocket to pull the trigger on a M2 or M4-2 or the like

Seems to be happening more. I had a seller in Italy tell me recently that he could not ship for the 50 euros in the ad, and basically told me not to leave bad feedback or it could take forever to settle everything. I just took the refund, and was glad to notice a made a few bucks on the exchange rate to dollars.

when l joined ebay in 1999 there was less hassle or it seemed so, after 1400 transactions l am now very disillusioned

When Ebay started out the focus was on good transactions for both sellers and buyers. Now it's become about growing EvilBay bigger and bigger and making more and more money with less and less support for problem resolution.

Capitalism at it's finest.

Glad to hear that the cricket raised your spirits, although I have to admit to a total disinterest in the game. However, the prospect of snagging an M2 or M4-2, on the other hand, is a far more interesting topic..! Keep us posted... 🙂

HI,

It's a pita isn't it when it happens but a better one at a better price could be just waiting for you tomorrow...

I'm afraid it happens to everyone now and then but 1400 to 1 isn't so bad.

Regards, David
