So yesterday I was watching a recording I had made of some TV programming. I had neglected to fast forward through the commercials as I sometimes do and that’s when something caught my eye. So I rewound and took a closer look. It turned out that Benjamin Moore used a Leica M6 ttl in this particular commercial. It was being used amongst other things such as a (Ford GT40 and a Bonsai tree) as an example of the best things made by particular people, supposedly like Benjamin Moore paint I guess. It all seemed a bit random to me.
But it did have me wondering where else in current advertising might rangefinder cameras be making appearances. I believe I saw a Mazda commercial a while back with someone taking photos via a rangefinder. That seems no less random I suppose. Any other examples out there regardless of the medium. I’ll admit that the rangefinder camera strikes me as such an unlikely choice for such use.
