So, I shot a few rolls in Kyoto. I took some Velvia 50, Provia 400x, Kodak vs (this and elitechrome came to me cheaply) for 135. I've scanned the VS. I think my retinas are going to die. Both saturated and blurry. The subsequent scans (same camera and lenses on velvia 50) seem subdued and crisp, even natural. The rest of this kodak will now be dedicated to bizarre experiments in cross processing to which its unique qualities might be suited.

VS stands for "Very Saturated" I believe. I used to shoot a lot of this stuff, and different batches varied in just how saturated. I had one brick that was crazy over saturated, but usually it was just loud.

I only shot VS in 120 .. it's saturated yes, but blurry? can't agree there.
A tiny bit of overexposure takes the saturation to a satisfiable level

Odd, as I really love E100VS. Maybe yours is a bad batch, as they said?

If Kodak's slide films are going to have this kind of quality problem, maybe kodak should stop making them.

Oh, right...

Kodak Slide Film has always been crisp -- perhaps a bit of trolling, or just a batch that wasn't stored/cooled properly from Rochester to Tokio?

Some were salvageable with post processing, but the day's bright orange/red/yellow turned into a wash of muddled fluorescent orange. Perhaps the wrong application.
