Anyone familar with this adapter? I bought one from our head bartender, Stephen, and it's throwing me a curve ball. Apparently there's a thin plastic mask inside and mine is a bit crooked as you can see in the pic. I'm wondering why it's there and whether I can just cut it out.
I have concerns that it might block the FOV on wide and superwide lenses. I don't have any issues on my 35mm but I plan on getting a 20mm and wider in the next few of months.
I spoke to Stephen about this and he didn't seem particularly concerned but couldn't say otherwise if the mask could be removed or what is its purpose.
So what do you think?

Hi Tony,
its a light shield to reduce flare within the adapter.
it will likely be no problem with super wides.
