Super-Acall <-> Acall seem to be different designs. Super-Acall 3.5/105 for Leica Rangefinder (S/N 40176) comes in all-black (speaks for >1957). Minimum focus <4ft, 39mm filter. Quite long for a 105mm: argument for a Triplet/ Triotar design

Still more infos needed...

I've seen a virtually identical lens sold under Komura label!! As long as it gives good results thats all that is important!!
I also have a 135mm finder, which looks identical to this one, so perhaps there is a 135 version?

Hi John,

Yep, there is a Super-Acall 135mm f/3.5... I have one and it is a good lens IMHO... Bill M. has a bit of a review/comparison on his website. If you do a search here for Super-Acall you should find it.

Here's a pic of mine mounted on a late FED 2... I had to pull back the rangefinder arm from inside to get it to mount... This is probably not a good idea?

Cheers!

I think they were different companies. Kyoei Optical Co. wasn't SANKYO KOHKI JAPAN, which brand name was Komura. Somehow Kyoei get lost, like many small Japanese optical companies of the 1950's.
The 135 is probably as good as most good 135 of its time, say Leica, Canon, Nikon, Asahi Optical (maybe Zeiss was first by a shorthead). The 105 is quite uncommon. If it's a triplet, it is beyond the means - but workmanship looks first-rate.
SHERFY wrote about Pentax history:
It is interesting to note that in 1959, Sears dropped the AOC and Steinheil models in favor of lenses made by Kyoei Optical Company. Sears only offered the 135mm and 250mm Kyoei lenses, and not the 80mm f/3.5 or 105mm f3.5 models also reportedly available in the Asahiflex mount.

The last two of last weeks roll Fuji Sensia 100:

Warm pleasing colors, nice saturation (better than the C/V 2.5/75mm I've made on the same roll), sharp enough to the corners, but solid amount of flare on the second picture (despite of the huge hood) which is 40% of the format. Focussed with my Bessa-R
