Rarest Mamiya Universal "Accessory"

How is this different from the Model II's? It looks the same. From looking at it I don't know how it would prevent exposure with the dark slide in or without advancing the film. Is there something I can't see?
 
Yeah, the pictures don't show the top, where the "included cable" attaches and connects to the shutter connection to the lens- the back detects when the shutter has fired, and prevents the shutter from firing if the dark slide is in or the film isn't wound.

I'd buy it, but I'm bidding on another Mamiya 100mm F/2.8 (Best lens, ever!) for the camera and hoping I don't win so I can eat this month.
 
Yeah, the 100mm f/2.8 has always gotten good reviews for sharpness. Also the 50mm, which I have. Someday I may go for the 150mm or the 250mm. I just prefer wide over long, so that is where my money has gone first. When I need long I revert to an SL* (just couldn't bring myself to say it :D ).
 
I've got both- I like 'em. The 250mm is a MONSTER (I've the f/5 version, without the hood, but with the case) and the 150 is a long-ish Tessar (the only way I really like that particular formulation, in shorter varieties, the out of focus areas are too "target" like)

I said I hope I don't win this lens, but I just re-bid. Grrrr.
 
I had thought about the 250mm f/8, figuring I would probably be on tripod with that much camera and lens anyway, or at least in bright light. I guess I could live with the lack of RF focus. However, you hardly ever see them for sale. I am in no hurry anyway.
 
I've heard a reference that indicates the F/8 version is a 4 element design and of slightly higher contrast, but I've not had the two to use together to prove it. I'd like to give it a go. I was sort of sad to find out that one can't focus the F/5 version with the rangefinder closer than 20 feet without having to stop way down (yellow marks on the barrel and f-stops), but it's still a nice lens.
