I have many photos hanging in my home on display. Most are photos that I believe are my best work and like to see and admittedly show to friends and family. I have decided to start adding other artist work that I admire. Just curious if other members have a mix of their own and others work on display.

We had our house up for sale for a while and took a lot of our art down. The house seemed so empty and no personality when we did that. Now we're beginning to re hang things and it's feeling better. My wife is a very accomplished painter and we have several of her pieces hanging and several of my images. We've collected paintings and photography for many years and will in time hang them again. This time rather than all on the walls I think we'll rotate every few months putting fresh work up and taking down ones that have been up for a while. Our mix is about 50/50 paintings and various forms of art to photography. The ratio of work done by us and by others is about 50/50 also. Art brings life to a home we feel.

All of my photos with each in a frame, some on bookshelves, others on walls are of my family. They take up all available space! I do have a few that were made during a family gathering with all of us, at the time, by one of my associate photographers.

That's one of the things I don't like about my apartment. It has plaster walls, and I'm not going to be putting holes in that to hang any pictures.

That's a hard one. I have many of my photos at home, but nobody seems to look at them maybe they are too familiar. Lately, I been thinking of adding some by my father and my father-in-law. I'm not the collector type so I want something that will mean something that my friends and family will love.

EDIT: Actually, the people that come to my home that seem to enjoy my photos are my housekeepers, my gardening when he comes in to use the bathroom, or the window washer that always seems to comment. They, I hope not, are not just trying to be nice.

With around 50 framed photographs on our walls, 4 are my own. Quite a few are from several decades of membership in Friends of Photography, taking part in the membership level that allowed me to select a photograph each year.

My big daughter has recently had one of my landscapes to hang in a new house - one of a pair, she had the first last year! Several of my photos are around the house but there is other artwork that includes just one photo not mine. I intended to rotate but just haven't got round to selecting alternatives.

I am fortunate to have a lot of friends who are photographers, painters, sculptors, print-makers, etc, so our house is chock-a-block with art. I do a fair amount of exhibition work, so a great deal of my framed pieces also find space on our walls. We recently moved to a smaller home, in an attempt do downsize, so we now have to rotate some of the stuff. It keeps it fresh for us, as well as those who come to visit.

I moved into my current home in October 2012 and have not yet hung anything. Before I had a combination of half my work and half others. I am waiting till I can get the interior of my current home painted before I hang stuff again. All we have done so far is hang the paintings my wife acquired in various Caribbean and Central America ports while on cruises. One reaches back to St. Thomas in 1980 and it is still my favorite!!
