RAW + JPEG Shooters: Which film sim?

I was excited for Classic Neg on my Xpro3, then when I started shooting jpeg +raw, every single time I preferred what I could do w raw vs the jpeg.

I use jpeg's 99% of the time. I came to digital after many years of film use. For me, using jpeg only is just like using film. Each film emulsion set very strict perameters on what the final image would look like. There was very little adjustment possible in the color darkroom. So jpeg use feels very natural to me.. I don't miss any of the fine-tuning that use of RAW files might add to my workflow.

I generally use RAW with cameras for which my computers have a RAW converter. And I use jpg when they don't. When I use jpg, I like to use a film simulation (at least with the Fuji cameras). I mostly use Velvia. It has not really occurred to me to shoot RAW + jpg! Well, sometimes I have. It seems like a good idea to do more of. Thanks for reminding me!

I am still pretty much shooting in RAW still then processing in Lightroom and in Nik Efex. I am still making use of Nik Analog Efex in particular for color shots.

If you try it just be aware that the default settings on most of its filters are terrible - it would be hard to pick worse ones on some examples so you must experiment and work at it to get a result. No click and publish here.

And I use Nik Silver Efex for black and white conversions. I almost never shoot black and white or film sim effects in-camera as I wholly rely on RAW files for the extra information that you can pull out of them and now that I am used to that, I simply cannot get used to the limitations of JPG files.

Some more recent examples. Not all necessarily look very "filmy" but I like them never the less. And had a lot of fun making them
