Hello.
I'm going away for a week soon, and I'll be taking my PC based laptop to store my piccies on. I'd like a simple, cheap RAW viewer. I wont edit, I just want to transfer the files and check it's worked. I normally work on a Mac, so am out of touch with RAW stuff on PC's. I shoot a Nikon.
Any suggestions?

Picasa would certainly do it, but there's also a raw image thumbnailer and viewer plugin for Windows Explorer, available as one of the Windows powertoys.
Both have the advantage of being free to use.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Picassa.
Cheers for the ideas, they will work perfectly.

I can suggest Raw Therapee: it can be installed on a USB portable key and run from it.
And most of all it is a freeware, you may try it without wasting money: in my opinion it is a great tool.
As a simple viewer, you may check faststone viewer: it works with Raw. It is freeware and portable.
Hope it helps.
