If I couldn't do it by hand in photoshop I would select the subject, inverse the selection, feather the selection and then burn.

I really like the 1st one...it dances...the 2nd is ok but is very subtle.....maybe a little too much....something in the stems....don

Interesting observation Don. I typically am a little heavy handed when processing and then tweak the look back a bit over time. This will probably not be the last time I work on this particular frame or series before I put it on paper. Sam interesting comment on the lenswork thing. I had it sitting in front of me today when I got the idea. I decided to use the most expensive lighting I own, my house ;-) OK, the windows in the house.

I ended up posting this one on flickr and it will be the first one I print. Tell me what you think.

I really like the R-D1 for this. Again, its not perfectly suited but it causes me to slow down and think instead of twiddling knobs , pressing buttons and just blowing through the whole exercise.
