I ruined the rangefinder component while trying to adjust it and I would like to know which bessa body i could buy to try to rebuild it.

(I spilled locktite on the glass parts of the focusing stuff. everything was ok until I tried to seal the screw)

Thanks for any replies...

When I had the RD-1 I tried finding out which bessa parts would fit. I was trying to swap out the rangefinder with one that had a different magnification. DAG informed me that the bessa rangefinders would not fit in the RD-1. I am not sure if that goes for other parts as well. At the time I also stumbled across a site that sold spare parts for the RD-1. I can't remember it now but others may know what I am talking about.

Good Luck.

I'm not saying that it's 100% compatible, but the most like one is the
R3a (I used RD1 alignment instructions for R3a alignment).

But there sure must be somebody who can clean the RF for you
professionally, for the price of an R3a or less.

Locktite must be cleanable ...

it's not based upon a Bessa body.
different body casting, different RF, different shutter

The 3A is closest, but many parts not interchangeable

best bet is to bite the repair bill and ship it to Epson -- while they are still repairing them.

dovi - Locktite can be dissolved, so any decent camera tech should be able to clean up the mechanism.

PS: put Locktite on using a sewing needle next time!
