RD-1 or EP-1?

I sold my RD-1, cause I needed the dough and I like the autofocus on my Nikon D90.

I miss it.

the "crop factor" on the EP would be a deal breaker for me.

I loved the RD-1 with the cron40 and ZM25

Just my 2 cents.

If you shoot wide with M, then EP1 may not work for you... Or even R-D1 may not either with 1.5x crop factor...

Without knowing your needs, nobody can tell,,,

There are far more differences between the two than just the absence of a viewfinder on the E-P1.
A host list of things on the E-P1 that the RD1 and M8 lack are:
1. Accepts autofocus FT and MFT lenses.
2. Adaptors are available for Nikkor, Canon FD, Canon EOS (minus aperture control), M mount, Pentacon Six mount, Mamiya mount - the list goes on and on.
3. Every lens mounted is stabilized because of the in-body image stabilization.
4. Sensor probably superior to that on the RD1, but not the M8.

There are other differences such as the silly art filters on the E-P1 but I don't see those contributing to the decision either way.

I think the first question to be answered is...
1) What do you want 1st AF or MF? (of course, M lenses are MF, BUT, the EP-1 has AF available plus longer lenses and zooms)
2) Do you want the availability of longer lenses than 135mm?
3) If you already have a DSLR, The RD-1 may add to your available camera preferences when a DRF may be a benefit for the photo experience.

Personally, I'd go for the EP-1 with an M adapter and 50mm f/1.4 Voigtlander, and maybe a ZD 12-60 , ZD 50-200 lens with 4/3rds>m4/3rds adapter..If I had the money and no other camera, The 50mm becomes a Very Bright 100mm f/1.4...Nice portrait lens and low light lens for some indoor functions.
