Hi

Do any of your cameras have the rangefinder patch in perfect alignment? I just got my RD-1 a few days ago and it was out of alignment from the start. Since there was no one able to repair it over the holidays I did it myself. While the camera is focusing properly I haven't been able to get proper vertical alignment for focusing on both near and far objects. This makes it quite difficult to be sure that I've focused correctly because there is always still a little bit of blur.

Thanks, Derek

I got a refurb a little over a month ago that was PERFECT.

I have a couple of others, one was fixed by DAG, the other by Epson.

Yesterday, after carrying the perfect one around with me carefully in a camera bag, I tried it in the afternoon and it was starting to drift. Made me crazy, I was so happy with this one.

Today it's worse. Looks like I'm going to try fixing this one myself. I think maybe the play on the adjustment screws are too loose. Normal camera use knocks it out of alignment too easily.

What do you mean by out of alignment? Not focusing correctly or something else? Dealy663 how did you fix it?

I mean that the rangefinder patch is not aligned vertically with the main image, so while they match horizontally when focused properly the tops and bottoms of the patch image aren't exactly in the same place as the main image.

I adjusted the RF by removing the hotshoe and turning the adjusting screws as detailed in several posts here at RFF.

Thanks. Now I get it. I just checked on mine and it seems to be aligned vertically when it is in focus but appears slightly below until I bring it into fous.
