I used a Leica when i first started taking photos as a hobby and loved it when i saw the R-D1 i wanted one when i retire as it looks like a real camera. Never used a SLR and never wanted one since retiring i have been given a Leica D-Lux 4 although smaller it remind me of my old camera and its not only a point and shoot it can also be fully manual. I have just sent away for a viewfinder and i am enjoying this camera so much i think i will keep on using it. The result are very good and any failings can be corrected using Paintshop Pro. So for the time being i will be saving my money i have been offered 3 cameras buy the way only one was priced and he wanted £900 inc a lens and that is on

But i think i could have got one for £850 with lens so perhaps in the future but not right now. Was also surprised doing my research in the R-D1 how many problems the camera had.
I thank everyone for their help and wish you all well and yes i still yearn for a R-D1 but cant justify £850 i retired on UK pension credit so on a very small income, my camera was brought by family the viewfinder will cost me £200.
All the best and bye

Oh my god i was offord one for £750 with a 50 lens as well but decided against it now i wish i had not. I have a Leica D-Lux 4 compact and its fantastic but i really wanted an Epson R-D1S with a lens. Has anyone got one for sale at a good price or even part exchange with the Leica + cash.
I am in the UK and could kick myself for not buying the one i posted the link too oh well when you want something go for it getting something else will not satisfy in the end.

There´s one in the classifieds now at 900 bucks, which is a very good price if in good condition (I´ve no reason to believe otherwise). Its gained a lot of attention already, so be quick.
P.S. And yes, £750 including a lens (even a FSU one) would have been a decent deal (again if camera in good condition).
