RD 1 wanted.

Hi

I would love to buy a digital camera to use my old Leica and Russian lenses .
My dream was to buy an M8 , but the inheritance money has been whisked away to more sensible uses [ like retirement back up - yawn ] Autisic stuff is a drag when I am de-pendant on someone long suffering [ HOW many Feds / Zenits / Zorkis / Kievs cluttering up the place ??? !!! ] .. and who makes sure we are not both out on the street !

But an RD 1 , though silly money is allowed Anyone know or an Rd 1 for sale in the UK ? Or possible dealers ? Are they going to get difficult to find , now ?

Sorry , but I may be buying a budget digital SLR - anyone know if I can use a screw thread I 50 on a Pentax ? Either a 42mm one or stepped down to my 39mm Zenit I 22 ?

Hi Dee,
M42 works fine on the Pentax.
LTM should not work due to the shorter registration. I don't know about the Zenit 39mm SLR registration, though.

The K100D is a steal at the moment over here in Germany @ less than 450 € incl. 18-55 lens.

I tried out the R-D1 during one weekend, but gave it back because I couldn't see the 28mm framelines (I am left eyed) and even worse: image quality of our Pentax *istDL2 with the 50/1.4 was much better than IQ of the R-D1 with the 50/2.0 M-Hexanon, which also is a great performer.
