Joe, can you visually check the contacts on both the charger and the batteries and ensure there is good contact? Maybe use some alum. foil to build up and ensure the connection is good?
If they've had a few hundred recharges, it could be they're are depleted.
If you do decide to dispose of them, be sure to recycle them or separate from normal trash/recycle, however your area does that with batteries.

contact seems fine...i have 2 other batteries that are exactly the same, same brand, bought from the same place...these 2 were bought in june of '09 while the other 2 were bought 3 months later. these 4 were primarily back up batteries while i have 2 from a different company that are my everyday users.

OK, re-reading your first post, it sounds like they are all still holding a charge, so is it possible the charger is acting up? Maybe get a 3rd party one for backup? I think they're pretty low priced, as that battery was used in a few different makes and models.

Unplug the charger, take out the battery - plug it back in, put battery back - should solve this. I have this happen from time to time. Even with OEM batteries/charger.

no, i buy them from mdbattery, las vegas, usa, off ebay.
they have the lenmar brand which i find to be the most consistent and less than half the price if i buy locally.

I had the same problem before. The batteries are just dying I think. I threw mine away and ordered the same Lenmar battery brand. They seem to be working fine after a year.

I may try the lenmar brand if you guys are having luck with them. I have three batteries and on a recent trip blew through two in a day while not even shooting that much (we're talking less than 30 frames per battery). Left me high and dry. It bugged me so much I've been contemplating moving to a used m8....

i have about 6 spare batteries, not counting the ones in the camera.
the lenmars are the best i have tried so far.
when walking about i often turn my cameras off...they start up pretty quick, have not lost a shot but then i am a slow shooter.
