does anyone in this forum adjust the "film settings" from the default settings? and if so, what do you find works well to satisfy your specific vision?

I leave every setting in the M position except for Noise reduction that I have set on low. Better to treat noise outside the camera as most of time it gives the pictures a great look.

jpeg are set at BW, edgechance +1, contrast +1. they serve for me as preview, not ultimate quality. but if it was low contrast scene, so pics look very good.

Still RAW is only choice for high quality output.

thanks for the info- i shoot primarily in raw mode, seldom use jpeg any longer. i attempt to use my rd1 like it is a film camera, screen closed and no chimping while shooting. Edit during non-shooting time. i also prefer not to have to do much post processing other than converting and saving a jpeg for the web (though there are times when pp is helpful).

I stick with Epson RAW and tweak a little before saving to JPEG.
