i paid about 230. for the 28/3.5 in good condition, but the finder had an (unadvertised) scratch on the front glass and needed a cleaning.
the cleaning was no big deal as it comes apart easily but the scratch flares a bit when viewing.
i mostly use the 28 for hip shots so the finder in a non issue now but eventually i'd like a better canon finder.
i would not pay 495 for the 28/2.8 especially since it gets mixed reviews.
