Born in the mid 1960's, first camera mid 1970's, shooting b&W mainly Ilford HP5 ever since, I now have a hanker for high speed film, greater than 400 asa, l want to play and experiment
What would you recommend for a bit of indoor fun with lots of grain

Easy. Delta 3200, developed for one stop faster vthan the chosen EI, i.e. expose at 1600 (the minimum I'd recommend), follow the development recommendations for 3200; for 3200, develop as for 6400, etc.
Come to think of it, is there any other choice today?
Cheers,
R.
