re purposing a GIII 1.7

So I have an essentially free GIII with a non working shutter and I would like to convert it to a fixed slit camera: it looks like an easy mod. How do you gain access to take the shutter leaves out?

David... (if the lens were removable in Leica mount it would be worth $400... funny Canon never thought about that)

According to Canon Museum they made 1.2 million of these. Guess $400 each of a few thousand LTM mount lenses was too small a profit for them to bother.
